Cookie and other tracking technology policy
Version effective as of 23 October 2026.
This policy provides information about the use of cookies and other tracking technologies when you browse the website of Hôtel Maison Malesherbes (hereinafter the “Site”).
It supplements our Personal Data Protection Policy, available at: link
1. Who uses cookies and other tracking technologies on the Site?
The Site is operated by Société Paris Malesherbes, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS), registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 419 333 760, with its registered office at 11 place Saint-Augustin, 75008 Paris, which operates Hôtel Maison Malesherbes, 11 place Saint-Augustin, 75008 Paris (hereinafter the “Hotel” or “we”).
MADEHO is involved in managing the Site and/or the tools used on it as a data processor.
Certain cookies and other tracking technologies may also be placed or read by third parties. These third parties and the purposes for which they are involved are indicated below and/or in our cookie management tool.
2. What is a cookie or tracking technology?
A cookie is a small file that may be stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) when you visit a website.
Other technologies may perform similar functions, including pixels, tags, identifiers or local storage technologies. In this policy, the term “tracking technologies” refers to all of these technologies.
Tracking technologies may, in particular, enable the Site to function properly, remember certain choices you make, measure its traffic or, subject to your consent where required, measure the effectiveness of campaigns or provide you with tailored content or advertising.
3. Which tracking technologies do we use?
Depending on the features actually available on the Site, we may use the following categories of tracking technologies.
3.1 Strictly necessary tracking technologies
These tracking technologies are necessary for the operation of the Site or the provision of a service that you have expressly requested.
They may, in particular, enable:
to ensure the technical operation and security of the Site;
to remember your cookie preferences;
to temporarily store the information required for the operation of a booking engine;
to ensure certain features essential for browsing or booking.
These trackers do not require your consent where their sole purpose is to enable or facilitate communication by electronic means or where they are strictly necessary for the provision of a service that you have expressly requested.
3.2 Audience measurement trackers
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure traffic and the performance of the Site, including the number of visits, pages viewed, browsing paths and any technical difficulties.
Where the conditions set out in the regulations are met, certain audience measurement trackers that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Site may be exempt from the requirement to obtain your consent.
Where these conditions are not met, in particular where data are used for other purposes, combined with other data, or enable your browsing to be tracked across different websites or services, these trackers are only placed or read with your consent.
3.3 Advertising and campaign measurement trackers
We may use trackers to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, determine whether you accessed the Site as a result of an advertisement or, where applicable, provide you with advertisements tailored to your interests.
These trackers may in particular be provided by Google Ads and Meta Pixel.
They are only placed or read with your consent.
3.4 Trackers related to third-party content and services
Certain pages of the Site may incorporate content or services provided by third parties, such as the booking engine.
Where the operation of these services leads the third party to place or read trackers that are not strictly necessary for the service requested by the user, these trackers are subject to your prior consent.
4. Which trackers are actually used?
The table below is completed based on the inventory of trackers actually used on the Site and the information provided by our service providers.
Tracker / tool | Provider | Purpose | Consent required | Duration |
Functional cookies | Hotel / providers | Operation of the Site | No – strictly necessary | 6 months |
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) | Audience measurement | Yes | 13 months
Google Ads / Meta Pixel | Google / Meta | Advertising / campaign measurement | Yes | 25 months |
MEWS | MEWS | Booking engine | Yes | 13 months |
5. How do we obtain your consent?
When you first visit the Site, a cookie management tool allows you to:
to accept trackers subject to your consent;
to refuse them;
or to set your preferences by purpose.
No tracker subject to your consent is placed or read on your device before you have given your consent.
Failure to make a choice or closing the consent collection tool without taking a positive acceptance action does not constitute consent.
Your consent is collected separately for each of the purposes presented to you. You may therefore accept certain categories of trackers and refuse others.
Trackers that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Site or for the provision of a service expressly requested remain active and cannot be disabled using our cookie management tool.
6. How can you change or withdraw your choice?
You may change your choices or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the cookie management tool.
Withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal.
Your choice, whether consent or refusal, is retained for a period of six (6) months. At the end of this period, we may ask you to make your choice again.
You may also be presented with a new request for consent before this period expires when a substantial change occurs, in particular if a new purpose or a new third party requiring your consent is added.
7. How long are trackers and data retained?
The lifespan of each tracker is indicated in the table in section 4.
This period is determined according to the purpose of the tracker and is limited to what is necessary for that purpose.
The periods applicable to other trackers are those indicated in the table in section 4 and are reviewed periodically.
8. Which third parties may be involved?
Depending on the tools actually used on the Site, the following companies may be involved in placing or reading trackers and/or in processing the information collected by means of them:
Provider | Tool / service used | Purpose on the Site |
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) / Google Ads / Google Maps | audience measurement / campaign measurement / map display
Meta | Meta Pixel | campaign measurement / advertising |
MEWS / WEBCOM Agency | booking engine / cookie management tool | booking / consent management |
Where these third parties determine their own purposes and means of processing, they may act as separate data controllers. We therefore invite you to consult their data protection policies to find out about the processing they carry out under their own responsibility.
9. Is the data collected transferred outside the European Union?
Some providers of trackers or services integrated into the Site may process data outside the European Union.
Where such a transfer concerns personal data for which we are responsible, it is governed in accordance with the GDPR, in particular by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or, where necessary, by appropriate safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.
Information relating to any transfers carried out by our providers for their own processing is also included in their data protection policies.
10. What are your rights?
Where the information collected through trackers constitutes personal data, you may, subject to the conditions provided for by the GDPR, have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and, where the conditions are met, portability.
You may also withdraw your consent at any time for trackers subject to consent by using the cookie management tool.
To exercise your rights concerning processing for which the Hotel is responsible, you may contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO):
by email: RGPD@madeho.fr;
by post: 11 place Saint-Augustin, 75008 Paris.
For further information about the processing of your personal data and the exercise of your rights, please consult our Personal Data Protection Policy.
11. Browser settings
Your browser may also allow you to delete or block certain cookies stored on your device.
These settings are independent of the cookie management tool made available to you on the Website and do not, on their own, constitute the means by which we collect your consent to trackers that require it.
Blocking certain strictly necessary trackers through your browser may affect the operation of certain Website features.
12. Changes to this policy
We may amend this policy, in particular to reflect changes in the trackers used on the Website, our service providers or applicable regulations.
The date of the latest update appears at the beginning of the document. In the event of a substantial change affecting the conditions under which your consent was collected, we will ask you, where necessary, to express your choice again.
